Adding Multiple References from the Library Catalog


The Georgetown Library Catalog (GEORGE) has the capability to export multiple citations to RefWorks. The citations are loaded into your RefWorks account and can be modified and edited as desired.

Books (A List of Books)


Step-by-Step Instructions for a List of Books

  1. Find the books in GEORGE
  2. Mark the titles by marking the boxes beside the titles
  3. Click on Save Marked Records above the list of books before you move to the next page
  4. Click on the large View Saved icon near the top of the screen
  5. Under Format of List click on Endnote/Refworks
  6. Under Send List to click on Screen
  7. Then click on Submit. You will see a list of your marked books on the screen
  8. Go to Edit at the top of the page.  Click on Select all
  9. Go back to Edit and click on Copy.
  10. Open RefWorks.
  11. under References choose Import from the pull down menu. References is on the toolbar near the top of the page.
  12. After you have selected Import, you will see several boxes that need information. Under Import Filter/Data Source select Innovative Interfaces (EndNote/RefWorks Format).
  13. Under Database, select EndNote/RefWorks Format.
  14. Select Import Data from the Following Text.
  15. Put your cursor in the large box just below  the Import Data from the Following Text heading.
  16. Go to Edit at the top of the screen and select Paste.  You should now see your list of books in the text box. Do not worry about the appearance of this list at this time.
  17. Click on Import (below the text box with your list of books).
  18. You can then see your references by clicking on View Last Imported Folder .
  19. Edit the references as necessary and move them to another folder if you wish.
