Adding a Reference from the Library Catalog


The Georgetown Library Catalog (GEORGE) contains citation records for books, videos, and other items that are owned by Georgetown University. You have the capability to directly export one citation at a time to RefWorks. The citation can be modified and edited as desired.

Books (A Single Citation at a Time)


Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Find a book in GEORGE
  2. Click on the title of the record, to show one item on the screen
  3. Click on the Add to Refworks link on the right hand side of the screen [insert image]
  4. The Refworks login screen will appear. Sign in to Refworks
  5. Click on View Last Imported Folder (Where is it?), to move your book record to RefWorks
  6. View record, using the drop down menu below tool bar that states All References Switch to: and select Full View
  7. Edit (Where is it?) the citation as necessary. Make certain it is in the format you prefer (MLA, Chicago, APA, etc.), the folder you prefer, and check for any errors.
  8. If a new subject, click on Folder (Where is it?) in the tool bar, select Create New Folder, name Folder, and click OK
  9. Select button All in List (Where is it?) or mark the items you want to save
  10. Press OK when asked and the citation will be automatically entered.
