Reserve Changes to Improve Service Many faculty use Library reserve materials extensively in their teaching. In the past, there has been frustration with the pace at which reserve materials become available. In response to these concerns, the Lauinger Library staff has been working to streamline its reserve policies and procedures. This year, in close consultation with the Faculty Library Advisory Committee, a new set of policies was produced that should improve the availability of reserve readings, especially at the beginning of each semester. Information on the changes was mailed to your office in August and may also be found at <http://www.library.georgetown.edu/forms/reserve/index.htm>. We would like to draw your attention to two significant changes that were approved by the Committee. · There is a limit of forty photocopies/electronic reserve items per professor, per course, per semester. There is no limit to the number of books a professor may place on reserve. · Deadlines for submitting reserve requests with materials to guarantee that readings will be available by the first day of classes are as follows: August 15 for the Fall semester We are committed to improving reserve services and welcome your feedback.
