Study Carrels Wired

Faculty as well as graduate students doing thesis research may register to use one of the 185 closed carrels located on the second, fourth and fifth floors of Lauinger Library. The carrels have always been a boon to those who conduct much of their research in the Library.

Now all 185 carrels have been wired with network jacks allowing anyone with a carrel assignment to connect to the University’s network. Library online databases, the World Wide Web, e-mail, and personal network storage space can be easily accessed using a laptop or other computer. Contact the UIS HelpDesk at 687-4949 to learn about the configuration requirements.
