Off-Campus Storage Frees Space for New Books
Jamil Hickerson, Stacks student, and Melissa Upton, Stacks Supervisor, admire shelf space for new books, the result of moving less-used volumes to storage. Remember that we can retrieve materials from storage upon request. Each book housed in the storage facility includes the location Off-campus storage in GEORGE, the online catalog. When you find a book with the location Off-campus storage, simply choose Request item, and type your name and Library barcode number. Books requested by noon Monday through Friday should be available at the Lauinger Library Circulation Desk by 4:00 p.m. the next business day. Books requested on Saturday and Sunday should be available by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Books will be held for pickup for ten days. Over time, the Library will take advantage of management statistics to identify volumes used twice a year or more and reinstate them into the Lauinger stacks. Please contact the reference desks at the Lauinger Library 687-7452 or Blommer Science Library 687-5651 if you need help submitting your suggestions, or have any questions about the storage process. |
